“A small part of

your story”

If I could paint a picture of my whole experience, we went from this wide question mark of what’s going on with my body, and then slowly narrowed it down until, you know, I was pretty much pain-free after tackling these areas.

I am able to dance again, fully dance. I can walk up and down stairs. I can run up and down stairs! Functional Manual Therapy gave me peace in my body, and I tell people it gave me a second chance to dance.

In the many, many years of my issue that I’ve had I have tried so many types of therapies... I have to say the results of working with Travis have been nothing short of spectacular.

Even my friends and family have been saying, ‘What have you been doing the past few weeks because you have radically changed?’ Physically it’s great, emotionally it’s even better, because when your body is out of sorts, your mind is out of sorts. So, its just been an incredible journey to go on.

What I needed was expert level bodywork to help undo years of inefficient body mechanics, poor posture, and muscular compensations. Functional Manual Therapists can do all of that. They are literally bodywork magicians!

When people are in significant pain, they need the help of hands-on treatment to get their bodies to a place where they are able to do corrective exercise and actually benefit from it.

I definitely think that pilates and really any form of corrective exercise is so much more effective with the help of manual therapy.

When he is making an adjustment, his movements are so precise that I can only imagine he is actually picturing the muscular system, or the skeletal system, or the nervous system, or the fascia.

I still have exercises he sends me home to do, but that’s not the work that we do in our session. In our session, he is really doing body work and that kind of manual therapy has been so instructive to me.

I think anyone would benefit from even one or two sessions getting to know your own body through this really brilliant, brilliant mind.

It was clear from the first appointment this was going to be a very different experience. Travis took an extremely thorough history of my symptoms and experiences. It was clear he was looking at the scenario much more holistically — the body as a system over time.

After the second appointment, it was clear that FMT and this therapist were an amazing combination. Someone finally had taken the time to put the pieces together, had given thought to it, and had the skills to help me.

I was amazed at how quickly I felt better... Within a week from the next time I saw him, I realized my lower back pain was much more relieved... He gave me this one particular exercise which no other physical therapist, including physical therapists for dancers, had ever given to me, and I just couldn’t believe what immediate relief it gave me.

If you consider yourself pretty in shape, you’ve seen other physical therapists, you know the exercises, and you know, you’re pretty sophisticated about your body, but you’re still having pain, I absolutely recommend that you give this Functional Manual Therapy a try because it was really, really qualitatively different.

A few years ago, I had a herniated disc which left me with a low level pain, a little bit of a drop foot....and I pretty much thought I was going to live with this for the rest of my life.

I didn’t really expect very much. I was actually really shocked because even on the first day of therapy, I had a remarkable change in my foot strength and also in the pain — which I didn’t even fully understand that I had this low level pain. As soon as it went away, I was like “Wow, I feel great!”

The other thing I appreciate is... Travis was not particularly encouraging me to come back. It was me saying “Well, why don’t I come back one more time.’ It was really therapy that fixed something and then ended.
