Our Team in Process

We are a month into the New Year and for most people, goals have already been left by the wayside. New Year’s resolutions are known to fail. We begin the year inspired to create change as evidenced by the rise in gym attendance and other behavior changes in the first month. However, only a few actually stay committed to their resolutions, estimated at 8% of people, due to competing priorities and inevitable life stressors. Having accountability from a partner or a group of people can make all the difference.

In our office, we are encouraged to bring our whole selves to work, which means letting all of the personal life baggage in the door. We check in on each other’s families and celebrate each other’s wins. We are people first, employees second. So, this year the Congruency team decided to rely on each other to keep both our professional and our personal goals. Speaking them aloud to one another is an aspect of our company culture, which embraces process, a humble acknowledgement of where we are in our journey towards our true potential. It was a commitment to our other core value - growth mindset - that recognizes our capacity to learn new skills and challenge our status quo. The sharing of goals was met with support and encouragement - offers of resources of books or podcasts, reflections on similar challenges, and strategies to overcome them.

This is not unlike the experiences we share with our clients. Each person is at a different point in the wellness journey - often a low one. Their physical well-being impacts their psychological and emotional health and is intertwined with their full life experience. We rarely get a complete story of a person’s pain or injury without some context from their lives. To be a good partner in their process, we aim to understand what their wellness means to them at its deepest level to be the support that they truly need.

So, we want to invite you to get to know each of us better as we share our own journeys with all of you - the things we are striving toward, struggling with, or wanting to grow in. We hope that sharing our own vulnerability and letting you into our process gives you the space to share yours with others for support and encouragement. The accountability might just carry you through this year and leave you a better version of yourself than when you started it.
